Is being a real estate property agent the right job for you?

Is being a real estate property agent the right job for you?

There are many properties for sale in Malaysia, such as Setia Sky Residence. Before you sign the papers, make sure you engage in a trustworthy real estate property agent to understand more about your desired property. You definitely do not want to regret over your choices. Being a real estate property agent requires many responsibilities. However, it could be a fun and interesting job. This article will guide you through the pros and cons of being a real estate property agent, before you decide whether it is for you or not.

Flexibility
Pros: This will be a bonus for those who hate the typical 9 to 5 jobs. Being a real estate property agent allows you to organize your own working schedule that suits your preference. Having your own schedule makes it easier for you to meet your clients as well, as not everyone is free during the 9 to 5 hours. This is also a better option for ladies who have children and still want to have a career. Being a real estate property agent with flexibility allows mothers to fetch their children from school at any time without having to worry being late to the office.

Cons: Having flexibility may sound good on the outside, but it comes with its disadvantage as well. Having your own schedule requires discipline. You will need to be discipline enough to not hit that snooze button every morning. You need to wake up, make phone calls, reply emails and meet your clients. You actually need to get yourself moving, create marketing and analyze the property market for your clients. It is not so easy after all. In addition, being a real estate property agent does not give you your annual leave, unlike those who work in normal companies.

Money
Pros: It is true that being a real estate property agent brings you good money. The best part of being a real estate property agent is that you get what you put effort into. That being said, the more work you do, the more clients you meet, the higher chance of you earning more than what normal people earn. You get to earn the commissions from your hard work and your effort and closing deals. After all, it is all about you reap what you sow.

Cons: Inconsistent salary. It may sound like being a real estate property agent gives you a thick wallet or bank account, but being a real estate property agent also means there is no steady income or fixed income going into your bank account every month. Especially for those who are new to the real estate property agent job, it might actually take quite a while until you actually see your paycheck. In addition, being a real estate property agent also means you do not get to enjoy any healthcare benefits from your clients, unlike those who work in a company where they do get health care benefits from their companies.

Hard work
Pros: Yes, being a real estate property agent requires hard work as well. You really need to put in your effort in order to excel and do well in the property market. That being said, not everyone can perform well as a real estate property agent. Most new real estate property agent jump onto the bandwagon, thinking that being a real estate property agent equals to fast easy money. What they do not know is that it requires lots of effort to become a successful real estate property agent. By putting in your hard work, you get to enjoy what comes later.

Cons: Being a real estate property agent is not as simple as ABC. Definitely not so simple as what you see or hear from the television or radio. You have to make an effort to find your clients. You have to convince them why the property is worth buying. You have to do your research on property prices. You have to manage your listings. You have to think of a marketing strategy. And you have to know your competitors well. All these require hard work and effort. Being a real estate property agent is definitely not an easy way to earn big money. It could be stressful at times, too.

Career mobility
Pros: Going your way up the corporate ladder is no fun. Therefore, be your own boss by being a real estate property agent. Yes, like I said above, being a real estate agent is not simple, but you will be amazed at what you can achieve at the end of the day if you put in effort and hard work. You will see your job as a real estate property agent expand and grow day by day. There are many opportunities in the real estate industry, so work hard and grab the opportunities.

Cons: This might apply to some real estate property agents who do not have a vision on what they see themselves in 5 years or long term. There will be no career advancement opportunities for your work. It is not a corporate world after all.

In conclusion, being a real estate agent has its own sets of pros and cons. Do understand what you are looking for and what you want to achieve before you jump onto the real estate property agent bandwagon.
